Helicopter flights

Spend appr. 15 minutes of your time, and we will show you the alternating views of deep blue fjords, green hillsides and the pure whiteness of the Jostedal Glacier. Flåm and the Flåm Railway
From Skei drive along Lake Jølster to Vassenden and continue to Moskog, the Rørvik Mountain and the Gaular Mountain to Dragsvik. Stops en route to see the spectacular views at Rørvik - and Gaular mountains. Arrival in Balestrand after driving along Esefjorden, an ”arm” of the mighty Sognefjord. Visit to ”The English Church”;- St. Olavs Church from 1897.
Continue from Balestrand by express boat on the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world, to Flåm. Flåm is the starting point for the spectacular journey on the Flåm Railway to Myrdal. From Myrdal back to Flåm on the Flåm Railway. Return journey by expressboat from Flåm to Sogndal, then continue by hotel minibus from Sogndal to Skei.
Price per person: NOK 1.100,- (incl. expressboat tickets, tickets for the Flåm Railway, toll roads and all hotel coach and minibus transport).
Vestkapp (”West Cape”)
Drive through the Våtedal Valley and Breim to Sandane. Continue to Anda with short car ferry crossing to Lote. Scenic drive along the Nordfjord to the coastal town of Måløy. A visit may be paid to the Kråkenes Lighthouse. Arrival at the most westerly mountain plateau in Norway, “West Cape”, 496 m.a.s., with spectacular views of the feared Stad Sea. Continue to Selje which was originally the bishop’s seat for the “Vestlandet” (Western Norway). A visit may also be paid to Selja Island with ruins of Selje Monastery. This Monastery was built by Benedictine Monks early in the 10th century in honor of St. Sunniva. Return journey via Sandane to Skei.

Astruptunet Museum and Eikaasgalleriet (art gallery)
Drive along the southern shores of Lake Jølster to the home of the painter and graphic artist Nicolai Astrup (1880 -1928), Astruptunet. The house and small-holding is today a museum. You will find it just as it was in Astrup’s days, nestling among the steep, but fertile slopes on the south side of the Lake Jølster. Nicolai Astrup lived most of his life in the Jølster area and is often regarded as one of the most “Norwegian” of all the national artists. Separate art gallery with permanent art exhibitions. From the farm there are extensive views over Jølster Lake and the surrounding villages. Continue along Lake Jølster to Vassenden, then towards Skei again along the main road. Visit to Eikaasgalleriet, an exhibition centre for modern art by the local painter and multi-artist, Mr. Ludvig Eikaas. Return to Skei.

Stardalen og Førde i Jølster
Drive from Skei to Klakegg and then through the Stardalen vally along the Stardalen River all the way to Fonn. Here you have a magnificent views of the Fonn Glacier, a part of the mighty Jostedal Glacier. Time at your own disposal. Visit at the Høyset Tourist Station, next to the imposing Driva Falls. Return to Stardalen Summer Café for light refreshments (optional, not included). Here you can also see a handicraft exhibition from the Jølster area. Return to Klakegg. Drive along Lake Bolset and Lake Paulen, two lovely and idyllic small lakes, through a wild and narrow valley to Lake Breimsvannet, with its tiny farming community Førde, where livestock graze at summer pasture. Førde was also a boating place on the old main postal road between the cities of Bergen and Trondheim. Time to admire spectacular panoramas and photographing. Return journey to Skei.

Stave churches along the Sognefjord
Along the shores of the central- and inner parts of the Sognefjord there are 4 different stave churches. The most famous of these is the Borgund Stave Church at Borgund in the Lærdal Valley, just across the road from one of the finest salmon rivers in the country, The Lærdal River. The others are the Urnes Stave Church at the Lustra Fjord, Kaupanger Stave Church in Kaupanger and Hopperstad Stave Church in Vik. Upon request we can arrange excursions to one or more of these churches. Price per person is subject to e.g. number of passengers and choice of itinerary.
