The trip to Jølster and Skei is an adventure in itself. The first guests arriving at the hotel more than 118 years ago came here because of the spectacular and majestic nature. The nature is as splendid today, even if the time it takes to travel here has decreased lot. No matter how you decide to travel, the travel route in itself is a memorable experience.

By car, coach or express bus
The hotel is situated in beautiful sorroundings by the northern shore of the Lake Jølster on E-39, midway between the cities of Bergen and Ålesund and by R-5 towards Sogn and further east across the mountains towards Oslo. There are daily express bus departures to Bergen, Lillehammer, Oslo, Trondheim and Ålesund (to mention some). By air
The nearest international airport is Flesland Airport (BGO) outside Bergen. Other international airports are Gardermoen Airport (OSL) in Oslo and Vigra Airport (AES) outside Ålesund. There are daily flights to/from Oslo and Bergen from the airport in Førde (FDE), Sandane (SDN), Sogndal (SOG) and Florø (FRO). The hotel has its own minibus and can arrange transfers to/from the airports upon request. The travel time to Anda Airport/Sandane is approx. 45 min. and to Bringelandsåsen Airport/Førde approx. 1 hour. The travel time to the airports in both Florø and Sogndal is appr. 1½ hours by car. The hotel can provide suggestions for travel routes and travel times.

Boat
You can also do part of the journey to and from Skei by boat. Fylkesbaatane in Sogn & Fjordane have express boats calling at Flåm, Sogndal, Leikanger, Balestrand, Lavik and Bergen. These express boats are in correspondence with busses taking you the rest of the journey to Skei. Vi can also offer transport with the hotel's own minibus to or from the stops along the Sognefjord.
